Nigeria established formal diplomatic relations with Austria in 1974. Since then, the cordial relations between Nigeria and Austria continued to wax with greater expansion in the area of international trade and investment promotions. The Embassy/Permanent Mission of Nigeria Vienna is concurrently accredited to Slovakia and United Nations Organisations and other International Organisations in Austria.
When applying for a visa:
- After completing and submitting your online visa application, you need to submit the following documents to complete your visa application at the visa section of the Nigeria Embassy Vienna.
- Your valid Passport
- One copy of your completed print out online application form
- One copy of your recent passport sized photograph (45mm x 35mm)
- One copy of your online receipt printed from your email, after you have completed the online visa payment for your application
- One copy of your Acknowledgement slip
- Additional administrative charges of 50 Euro to be paid at the Embassy
Note please: No renunciation without the return of Nigerian Passport. Surrender Nigerian passport with current visa or visa valid till Austrian citizenship obtained. Fee 250 Euro per person regardless of age (even if endorsed in passport).
All original documents to be authenticated must be first endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja. A copy of each document to be authenticated and a fee of 25 Euro per copy of original. Admin charges for authentication of Documents for EXPORT/STR Visa is Euro 200 per document.
Lost, Damage or stolen Passports. Such cases are handled by Nigerian immigration. However, Nigeria Embassy Vienna can refer individuals with such case to a sister Embassy to obtain a new booklet, after ascertaining the residential status of such individual in Austria. Please note that in a situation where the lost, damage or stolen Passport was obtained in Nigeria, the individual concern must first obtain permission from Comptroller General of Nigerian Immigration before another Passport could be issued outside Nigeria. Please give yourself enough time for investigation by Nigerian immigration. Similarly those who wish to change their status either through marriage or divorce should also apply through same process described in lost or damage passport.
