The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa provides a wide range of consular services including various visas, pension issues, civil registration, legalization of documents, and deals with many other standard issues.

Passport processing period is about 30 working days. Applicant may claim the new passport in person or submit a self-addressed, prepaid special delivery envelope together with the application for use by the Embassy in posting the new passport to the applicant.

Consular hours for passport are from 9.00 โ€“ 17.00 Mondays to Fridays, except on Philippine and Canadian holiday. The Embassy is authorized to reject applications not supported by sufficient documentary requirements.

The Embassy does not perform notarials for non-Filipino nationals.

Documents signed or executed by Canadian nationals to be used in the Philippines should first be notarized by a Notary Public then authenticated by DFAIT.

The Embassy does not process documents that are intended to be submitted or presented to non-Philippine Government or private entities, such as Affidavits of Support for Immigration purposes to other countries and other documents of similar nature.

All reports of birth, marriage and death filed with the Embassy are forwarded to the National Statistics Office (NSO) in the Philippines through the Department of Foreign Affairs. NSO-certified copies of all submitted reports may be retrieved in the Philippines three months after the filing of the Reports at the Embassy. It is important to always keep a personal copy of all Reports filed.

Visa applicants may file their applications at the Embassy during regular office hours, except during Philippine and Canadian holidays.

From 1 August 2013, Canadian passport holders who intend to visit the Philippines for tourism or business may enter and stay in the Philippines for 30 days without visa provided that they hold valid tickets for their return journey to port of origin or next port of destination, and that their passports are valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines.

It is illegal for any incoming or outgoing passenger to bring in or out Philippine Pesos in excess of P10,000.00 without prior authority from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Any violation of this rule may lead to its seizure and civil penalties or criminal prosecution.
