The Embassy acts as Registrar for Polish nationals resident in Estonia: issues them with identity cards and passports, registers their births, deaths and marriages, enters them on the electoral rolls and organizes polling stations for major national elections, draws up notarial acts and ensures the protection of their rights with regards to the Irish authorities. It is also responsible for issuing visas pursuant to the Schengen Agreement to persons who require them.

Polish citizens should be registered at the Registry of a Polish municipality. Registration permits the exercise of all the rights and duties of a citizen depending on each individual situation. The Polish citizen is obliged to inform his/her municipality, as well as the Consulate, of all registry data changes such as marital status, citizenship, address, etc.

Theft or loss of a valid passport must be reported to the police and a police report should be presented when applying for a new passport. Otherwise a passport is applied as normally. When reporting a lost passport to the police it should be noted that a report made by telephone and a registration number given on the basis of that might not be adequate proof to the insurance company. The report can be made in person at a police station so that a report of the crime is available in writing.

All visa applications must be submitted in person not earlier than 3 months prior to departure and not later than 2 weeks before planned journey. Postal applications will not be accepted. Please submit all the documents in original and one copy of each document per applicant. If the applicant is under 18 years old, he/she must apply with at least one of his/her parents or a legal guardian.

Consulate does not bear any responsibility for travel tickets bought before the issuance of visa. NOTE: Regular visa processing time takes approximately 15 calendar days. In some cases the procedure may be extended.
