Main task of the honorary consuls is to protect rights and interests of the Republic of Poland and its citizens in ones jurisdiction and promoting Poland in the fields of economy, culture, science and tourism. All other matters (visa applications, passports, citizenship matters, consular assistance, financial help etc.) should be addressed to the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in The Hague.
Consular services provided by the Embassy:
- Provides consular assistance;
- Grants visas;
- Deals with Polish citizenship matters;
- Certificates, legalizes documents;
- Assists in transportation of human remaints or ashes to Poland;
- Intermediates between Polish citizens living in the Netherlands and relevant institutions in Poland;
- Issues passports and temporary passports;
- Issues civil status records.
Citizens of the Netherlands are not required to be in possession of a visa when entering Poland for less than 90 days. Third-country nationals are allowed to enter Poland and stay there if they are in the possession of one of the following documents: Uniform short-stay Schengen visa (C), Polish long-stay national visa (D), Polish residence permit, Residence permit or national long-stay visa issued by another Schengen state.
The waiting period for issuing a temporary passport is up to two weeks.
Fees for consular services are accepted only in cash or via bank transfer. In case payment is being made via bank transfer, a printed confirmation of the transaction must be brought.
The Embassy is closed on weekends and public holidays.
