The Romanian Embassy in Ankara ensures the whole representative functions of Romania in the Republic of Turkey. According to these functions the Embassy promotes and protects the interests of the Romanian state and those of its citizens in respect of the international law, as well as the Romanian and Turkish legislation.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Issuance of passports;
  • Dealing with Romanian citizenship;
  • Marriage in the Embassy;
  • Issuance of visas;
  • Issuance of birth, marriage, death, criminal record, employment, name change, divorce certificates;
  • Issuance of notarial acts;
  • Assistance and consular protection of Romanian citizens.

In case Romanian citizen loses or gets his/her documents, money or other belongings stolen abroad, he/she should immediately report it to the local police and obtain a police report.

Citizens of other states (states not in the EU/EEA) need an entry visa. Turkish nationals must be in possession of visas when traveling to Romania.

Tourist visa requirements:

  • Voucher or firm reservation at a tourist accommodation unit, as well as the itinerary of the trip;
  • Valid travel ticket to destination, or the driving license, green card and registration documents of the means of transport in the case of vehicle drivers, except for the accompanying persons who travel together with them;
  • Travel medical insurance;
  • Proof of financial means in amount of EUR 50/day for the entire period, but not less than EUR 500 or the equivalent in convertible currency, except for the visa applicants who prove the full payment in advance of the tourism services packages, at least accommodation and meals;
  • The application form, appropriately filled in and signed; minors shall submit a form signed by both parents or by a person who exercises, permanently or temporarily, parental authority or guardianship;
  • 2 recent colour photos, size 3 x 4 cm;
  • A valid travel document that is recognised by Romania, on which the visa shall be applied and which has to be valid for at least three months after the estimated day of exit fromRomania; contain at least two free pages; contain at least two free pages;
  • The legally required documents that justify the purpose of the trip, the duration of stay and the possibility to return to the country of origin or to continue the travel to another country after the stay in Romania;
  • Minors need the consent of the persons exercising parental authority or guardianship when they do not travel accompanied by the latter.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
