Citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany traveling to the Republic of Serbia do not need visas (up to 90 days). All holders of German travel documents for aliens or refugees require an entry visa for the Republic of Serbia. For a stay exceeding 90 days, a request for temporary stay must be submitted in the Republic of Serbia. Visas can be requested by submitting an application to the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia.
Short-stay visas are mainly issued for tourism, business as well as other travelling needs including a single, double or multiple entries into the Republic of Serbia. The duration of an uninterrupted stay, and/or the total duration of successive visits of a alien with a short-stay visa shall not exceed 90 days within a period of six months which began on the day of the first entry. A short-stay visa with the multiple entry option is issued with the validity of up to one year; however, it may also be issued for a longer term if it is related to the staff of a foreign diplomatic mission or a consular office as is stated by applied principle of reciprocity.
During the stay abroad, passport serves as proof of the identity of its holder and as proof of his/her being a national of the Republic of Serbia. Passport can only be used by the person to whose name it has been issued. In case one loses the passport on a trip abroad, he/she should immediately contact the police authorities of that country and ask to be issued a receipt to that effect. The applicant should then submit the receipt to the nearest diplomatic or consular mission of the Republic of Serbia which will issue a travel document for the return to Serbia, once the procedure to establish his/her identity and citizenship has been duly completed.
