The mission of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in The Hague is to support the development of the Slovak-Dutch relations from high level representatives down to working individuals interacting between the two countries. This development includes fields where political representation, public administration, municipalities, professional groups and individual citizens of the Slovak Republic and the Netherlands show their interests and bring value to the development of the Slovak-Dutch relations. The Consular Section is an important part of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in The Hague and deals with consular issues for Slovak citizens who are living in the Netherlands either permanently or temporarily (register agenda, civil agenda, certifications etc.).

The Embassy provides these consular services:

• Issues passports;
• Provides consular protection and assistante to Slovak citizens in cases of emergency;
• Issues emergency travel documents;
• Assists in contacting relatives/friends from Slovakia in case of accident abroad.

Since 15 October, 2011 the Embassy of Slovakia in The Hague will not accept any more visa applications and applications for long term/permanent residence in Slovakia. Since that date the request should be addressed for the territorially competent Embassy of Slovakia in Paris.

As of 21 December 2007 Slovakia is part of Schengen Visa Area, i.e. all holders of Schengen Visas may travel to Slovakia without any other specific restrictions. EU-citizens may travel to Slovakia with their valid passport or national idetity card.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
