The Embassy develops bilateral relations of Slovakia with Turkey and Georgia. It evaluates their internal politics, economical situation, relations with neighboring countries and activities on international forums. The Embassy closely monitors security situation in the region, relations with European Union and bilateral relations with the Slovak Republic. Evaluation and assistance with EU accession process is one of the Embassy’s main tasks.

Consular services provided:

  • Consular assistance to Slovak citizens;
  • Issuance of travel documents;
  • Issuance of ID cards;
  • Child birth registration;
  • Marriage registration;
  • Citizenship matters;
  • Verification of documents;
  • Issuance of visas.

Theft or loss of Slovak passport should be reported to local police which will issue a written confirmation of theft/loss. Loss of travel documents shall be reported at the Embassy in person.

Turkish nationals can lodge the Schengen visa application at the Slovak mission, if Slovakia constitutes the sole destination of the visit(s). If the visit includes more than one destination, the Member State whose territory constitutes the main destination of the visit(s) in terms of the length or purpose of stay. If no main destination can be determined, the Member State whose external border the applicant intends to cross in order to enter the territory of the Member States. Accredited travel agencies to the Slovak Consulate General may lodge visa application on behalf of their clients.

Visa requirements:

  • a travel document (passport),
  • an up to date photograph with dimensions of 3 x 3.5 cm, depicting him/her in such a way that there is seen a three-quarter profile of the face on the photo,
  • documents confirming the purpose of the visit,
  • documents confirming sufficient amount of funds for the stay abroad,
  • documents proving there is provided sufficient amount of funds necessary for travelling abroad,
  • proof of health insurance covering costs that may arise in connection with the applicant’s repatriation, due to illness and in connection with provision of urgent medical care on the territory of the Slovak Republic, with the minimum cover of EUR 30,000,
  • other documents necessary for the decision in connection with the visa application (e.g. confirming accommodation, invitation), issued at the latest 90 days before their submission.

The Diplomatic Mission of the Slovak Republic abroad shall decide on the visa application within 30 days from the date of its delivery.
