The Embassy provides these consular services:
- Issues passports, ID cards, emergency passports;
- Registers Swedish citizens living abroad;
- Deals with Swedish citizenship matters;
- Issues civil status certificates (birth, marriage);
- Deals with pension matters;
- Assists Swedish citizens in case of emergencies;
- Allows Swedish citizens abroad to participate in national electoral events.
If Swedish passport has been lost or stolen, citizens can apply for an emergency passport for one single imminent journey only.
In order to visit Sweden, people must have entry visas. If the visit to Sweden will be longer than three months, a visitor's residence permit is needed. Citizens of Netherlands do not need visas to enter Sweden.
Visa processing time usually takes two weeks but this time may vary at embassies or consulate generals.
The Swedish Embassy in The Hague does not handle visa applications.. To apply for a visa, people should contact Swedish embassies in Athens, Berlin, Madrid or Paris.
Consular fees must be paid either in cash or with bank card, with the logo VPay or Maestro, in local currency (EUR). Embassy does not accept payment with Chipnip or credit cards.
The Embassy is closed on Dutch and Swedish public holidays.
