The overall role of the Swedish Ambassador to Thailand, Mr Staffan Herrström, is to strengthen the relations between Sweden and Thailand. These relations concern the contacts between our Governments, but also between companies, organisations and our people.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Issuance of passports;
  • Registration of Swedish citizens abroad;
  • Issuance of records and certificates;
  • Voting rights for expatriates;
  • Wedding abroad;
  • Renewal of driving licenses;
  • Citizenship matters;
  • Pensions and benefits;
  • Issuance of visas;
  • Assistance in cases of emergency.

Thai citizens require visa for entry into Sweden.
Tourist visa requirements:

  • Schengen visa application form.
  • One color photo.
  • Original passport.
  • Previous passports and past visa stamps to the Schengen visa (if any).
  • Application fee.
  • Original certificate of employment or equivalent (if applicable).
  • If self employed, copy of company registration/certificate from stakeholder and proof of annual income.
  • If student, certification of enrolment from school.
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the entire visit (if applicable).
  • Copy of hotel reservation.
  • Copy of roundtrip airline ticket reservation.
  • Copy of paid travel medical insurance.
  • Travel itinerary.
  • Completed questionnaire.

Since 14 November 2013 all applicants applying for a Schengen visa must submit biometric data, ten fingerprints and a digital photo. The biometric data is stored in the Visa Information System (VIS), which is an IT-system that allows Schengen States to exchange visa data.

If applying at the VFS Global Center, the processing time is 7-9 working days depending on the total number of applications submitted per day. The processing time may take longer in some cases.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
