As the official representation of Switzerland, the embassy covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations between the two countries. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic and financial affairs, legal arrangements, science, education and culture.

All the consular tasks are treated by the Regional consular center Benelux at The Hague since 16th May 2011:

  • Inscription / announcement of departure at the Swiss representation;
  • Applications for passports and identity cards;
  • Civil status affairs (birth, marriage, divorce, etc.);
  • Change of address;
  • Consular protection;
  • Naturalizations;
  • Visas;
  • Assistance, etc.

Any loss, theft or destruction of a travel document must be immediately reported to the local police. Vsitors to Switzerland are advised to make copied of the personal data page of travel documents and carry one with them while traveling. This will speed up document recovery proceedings.

Citizens of the Netherlands do not require a visa to enter Switzerland.

Various regulations apply for entering Switzerland. A basic distinction is made between citizens of EU and EFTA countries and those of other countries.

The Embassy is closed on weekends and public holidays.
