As the official representation of Switzerland, the Embassy covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Philippines. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic, financial and legal affairs, as well as science, education and culture.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Citizenship matters;
  • Civil status affairs (marriage, birth, death, etc.);
  • Issuance of criminal records;
  • Translation and legalization of Swiss driving license;
  • Emergency assistance to Swiss citizens abroad;
  • Legalization of documents;
  • Military service matters;
  • Issuance of passports, identity cards;
  • Allowing Swiss citizens to participate in popular votes at federal level as well as elections to the National Council;
  • Registration and deregistration, change of address matters;
  • Social insurance and social security matters;
  • Issuance of visas.

The loss or theft of a Swiss ID document abroad must be reported as soon as possible to the local police as well as to the relevant Swiss representation.

A police report (declaration of loss) is also required to make it possible to prepare a new identity document, such as a temporary passport.

Citizens of Philippines who want to visit Switzerland require a visa for stays of up to 90 days. For stays in Switzerland of more than 90 days, a residence permit is required.

All third-country nationals, regardless of their visa obligation status, who wish to enter the Schengen Area through Switzerland must be in possession of a travel document that meets both of the following two requirements:

  • The validity of the travel document must extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the Schengen Area; and
  • The travel document must have been issued within the previous 10 years.

The fee for the visa is due at the time the application is submitted and is not refundable. 

The Embassy is closed on official holidays.
