The Embassy’s main mission is to promote and further enhance political, economic, cultural and trade relations with Germany and the other countries of accreditation. Furthermore, the Embassy provides general information on Thailand and offers consular services to Thai nationals visiting or living in Germany as well as to foreign citizens wishing to visit Thailand.

The Consular Section of the Thai Embassy in Berlin provides consular assistance and services to overseas Thai citizens, which include citizen registration, identification documents and passport related matters, emergency travel documents, legalization of documents, etc. The Consulate also issues visas to foreign nations who wish to visit Thailand and offers a range of other services and information on Thailand.

In case of a lost or stolen passport first, one needs to file a report of the lost passport at a local police station. In order to issue a new passport a police report certificate is required. The applicant must make an appointment. Applicant is required to come in person. For applicants who are under 20 years old, parents are required to attend the Embassy with the applicant. Applicants who have travelled to Germany on Tourist Visas cannot apply for an E- passport.

British passport holders are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period not exceeding 30 days on each visit. If such foreigners enter Thailand at immigration checkpoints, which border neighboring countries, they will be allowed to stay for 15 days each time. The exemption to this is Malaysian nationals crossing overland from Malaysia who are granted a period of stay not exceeding 30 days each time.
