The Embassy represents the Republic of Tunisia in the Republic of Austria, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia and Croatia.

In its function of Permanent Mission to the UN and international organizations in Vienna, the Embassy is in charge of the cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the United Nations Convention against Corruption, the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs,  the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), as well as the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) and all international and intergovernmental centres and institutions in Vienna in charge of strategic studies and international relations as the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), the Austrian Institute for International Politics (OIIP), the international Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) and the Organisation for International Economic Relations (OIER).

The consular section of the Embassy covers Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia. It is in charge of the handling of consular affairs, interests and the situation of Tunisian citizens living in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, the consular section is competent to grant and issue passports and visa and to manage the civil status of Tunisian citizens living in the countries of accreditation.

The consular section of the Embassy supports and promotes the communication and synergy with several Tunisian associations, especially by organizing various activities and actions in the Tunisian cultural centre in Vienna.

The Administrative and Consular Section deals with all matters related to passports, visa and judicial affairs and also all administrative matters concerning the Embassy.
