Consular services provided by the Turkish Embassy in Luxembourg:

• Birth, marriage registration;
• Issuance, renewal of passports;
• Notarial services;
• Handling of requests to acquire Turkish citizenship;
• Issuance of visas.

If a Turkish passport is lost when traveling abroad, it should be reported to the nearest police station as soon as possible. They can then apply at the nearest Turkish embassy in the area for a temporary travel document which allows return back to Turkey.

Holders of ordinary and official Luxembourg passports are exempted from visa for their travels to Turkey for up to 90 days. The term "official passports" covers diplomatic, service, special and official passports. Additionally, citizens of Luxembourg are allowed to enter Turkey even with their passports expired within the last 5 years.

If a foreigner has a valid visa, he/she does not need a residence permit up to 90 days. On the other hand, foreigners who shall reside, work or study in Turkey, should register themselves at the nearest local police department upon their arrival in Turkey, regardless of the validity of their visa.

As of April 17, 2013, electronic visa (e-Visa) replaces "sticker visa" which was issued at the border crossings. Please note that e-visa is only valid when the purpose of travel is tourism or commerce. Other purposes, such as work and study, require regular visa given by Embassies or Consulates.
