The Embassy develops and sustains the important and longstanding relationship between the UK and Brazil. The Embassy works on a wide range of political, commercial, security, defence, and economic matters of interest to the UK and Brazil, and provides consular support to the many Britons visiting and living in Brazil.

Consular services provided:

  • Emergency travel documents;
  • Help for British nationals;
  • Affirmations or affidavits of marital status;
  • Registration of birth or death;
  • Bereavement support;
  • Support in case of arrest;
  • Notarial and documentary services;
  • Travel advice.

The British embassy can’t help with passport or visa enquiries.

Brazilian citizens do not need a visa to come to the UK. However, they should bring the same documents they’d need to apply for a visa, to show to officers at the UK border:

  • Valid travel document (national passport or other document that allows the holder to travel internationally);
  • Previous travel documents/passports, which show precious travel;
  • Financial documents showing that the person has sufficient funds available;
  • Confirmation of legal residence, if not a national of Brazil;
  • Details of employment or studies;
  • Business activities documentation.

The Embassy is closed on Public holidays.
