Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Issuance of emergency travel documents;
  • Renewal, extension of passports;
  • Notarial and documentary services;
  • Getting married in Poland matters;
  • Registration of a birth or death;
  • Legalisation of foreign documents;
  • Assistance in cases of emergency.

UK nationals can apply for an emergency travel document (sometimes known as an emergency passport) if their passport has been lost, stolen, damaged or has expired while abroad. To apply for an emergency travel document, UK nationals must contact the nearest British embassy, high commission or consulate and present the following documents:

  • a completed emergency travel document application form;
  • a recent photograph;
  • proof of travel plans, eg booking confirmations (or detailed written travel plans);
  • a police report if the passport has been stolen.

British Embassy in Warsaw, Poland does not deal with visa matters.

Citizens of Poland do not require a visa to come to the UK. Citizens of some other countries require a visa to come to the UK.

Documents required for a general visitor visa:

  • current passport or other valid travel identification;
  • one passport sized colour photograph;
  • evidence that an applicant can support himself/herself during his/her trip, eg bank statements or payslips for the last six months;
  • details of where the applicant intends to stay and his/her travel plans.

Applicants will need to provide a certified translation of any documents that aren't in English or Welsh. Most visa applications are processed within 10 days. However, visa processing may take up to 30 days. The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
