If Canadian passport is lost or stolen, it should be reported to the nearest Government of Canada office abroad. A replacement passport may be authorized if all requirements are met. They include the submission of:

  • A completed application form, signed by the guarantor.
  • Two identical passport photos, one of which is signed by the guarantor.
  • An accepted proof of Canadian citizenship.
  • A document to support applicant’s identity.
  • The appropriate fee (passport fee + replacement fee).
  • A complete Declaration concerning a lost, stolen, inaccessible, damaged or found Canadian travel document.

If Italian citizens plan to travel to Canada by air or transit through a Canadian airport, they need to apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). They can apply with a valid passport, a credit card or a debit card, and an email address.

If Italian citizens plan to travel to Canada by car, train, bus or boat, they don’t need a visa or eTA, but they do need to bring the right travel documents.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
