Visa requirements:

  • Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from date of departure. All passports with less than 6 months validity from date of travel are not acceptable.
  • Non-Nigerian and non-citizens applying from countries to which this mission is concurrently accredited should provide evidence of legal residence in Nigeria or in those countries.
  • 1 duly completed application form.
  • Passports must bear signatures of bearers.
  • Letters of invitation from person or institution in Ghana.
  • All Nigeria passport holders are required to provide a copy of their ID as part of their visa application support documentation.
  • Copy of passport of the host in Ghana if Ghanaian; copy of passport and proof of residence in Ghana for non-Ghanaian hosts.
  • Letter from present employer or educational institution confirming status. If self-employed, particulars of business registration.
  • Applicants should take note of numbers 3 & 7 on the application forms. Numbers 3a&b are Nigeria addresses and telephone numbers while number 7 requires full names, addresses, contact telephone numbers of the references in Ghana.
  • Applicants must present copies of return or onward ticket.
  • Non-Nigerians and Non-Citizens applying from countries to which this Mission is concurrently-accredited should provide evidence of legal residence in Ghana or in those countries.
  • Confirmation of the hotel reservation.
  • Applicants under 18 years, require an authorisation letter from both parents and photocopy of parent's passports.
  • Applicant should provide proof of financial means e.g.: Bank statement or payslip.
  • A copy of the bank payment transaction slip (Visa fee).
  • All completed forms must be duly signed and dated.
  • Signature on application form must tally with applicant's signature in the passport.
  • Individual payments must be made for each application. Collective payments are not acceptable.
  • Photocopy of the bio-data page of applicant’s passport.
  • A copy of a valid yellow fever vaccination card older than 10 days is required.

All fees must be paid by Bank Deposit Slip. Postal order, bank guaranteed cheque or cash are no longer accepted. Proof of payment must be in the form of a Bank Deposit Slip only. No EFT or Internet transfers allowed.
