Requirements for a new passport in lieu of lost passport:

  • Application in EAP-I form. All particulars in the application should tally with those in the lost passport.
  • Photocopy of the lost passport
  • 5 recent photos with white background and frontal view (51mm*51mm).
  • Copy of the First Information Report (FIR) from the Police authorities and its authentic legal English translation.
  • Original with a copy of one or more of the photo-affixed identity cards to establish identity and nationality(The original will be returned after verification):-(a) Identity Card (b) Labour Card (c)Health Card (d) Driving License (e) Election commission card
  • A sworn affidavit duly attested by the Consular officer, explaining
    • a) The circumstances under which the passport was lost;
    • b) Details of travel on the lost passport, certifying that the applicant has not acquired any other nationality.
    • c) Details of travel concessions including Transfer of Residence benefits, Foreign Exchange availed of, imports made by the applicant on the lost passport; certifying that the applicant has not acquired any other nationality.
    • d) Places of stay and work in UAE since arrival
  • Personal Particulars Form (in Triplicate with pasted photos) in the case of passports issued by other Passport Issuing Authorities
  • Personal appearance of applicant is compulsory to establish physical identity.

In the case of applicants who are on short visit to the UAE and not residents in this country, they will be issued an emergency certificate to return to India.

As per Government of India’s latest guidelines, it may be noted that all Indian visa applications are required to be submitted online on mandatory basis starting from January 01, 2012. Visa applicants, under any category, can do so by completing the online visa application from available on the website http://www.indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/. Thereafter, a signed printed copy of the online visa application is to be submitted to BLS center along with other necessary supporting documents and due visa fee and charges.
Indian visa applications are received at BLS Centers.

e-Visa facility is available for nationals of the UAE. Services of e-Visa involve completely online application for which no facilitation is required by any intermediary / agents etc.

Tourist visa requirements:

  • Visa application filled in online.
  • Two recent photographs [2X2 Inches] with white background.
  • Passport in original with photocopies of its first five pages.
  • A supporting letter from the company/organization in which the applicant is working in case of all nationals other than UAE.
  • Travel itinerary or Hotel booking, should be attached with the application.
  • The passport should have validity of more than 6 months.
  • There should be two blank pages facing each other.

Tourist visa will only be granted to a foreigner who does not have a residence or occupation in India and whose sole objective of visiting India is recreation, sightseeing or casual visit. No other activity is permissible on a Tourist Visa.

The Tourist visa is non-extendable and non-convertible.

Normally, tourist visa is issued for a period of 3-months with single entry.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
