The Embassy works to promote and protect Irish interests in Egypt whether it is working to promote Irish economic interests or strengthen the political and cultural relations between the two Governments.

Consular services provided:

  • Consular assistance to Irish citizens;
  • Visas;
  • Citizenship;
  • Authenticating documents;
  • Marriage and civil partnership;
  • Travel advice.

In case of lost or stolen passport abroad, Irish citizens will need a police report if they want to make a claim on their travel insurance. The Embassy will not provide Irish citizens with a new travel document without a police report. Staff in the Embassy or Consulate can give a replacement passport that will let applicants finish their trip or an emergency travel document that will get them home.

Citizens of Egypt need visas to visit Ireland.

Tourist visa requirements:

  • Application Summary Sheet (from AVATS).
  • Application letter.
  • Vacation plan of applicant’s planned vacation to Ireland, including where he/she will stay.
  • Proof of the visa application fee.
  • Current passport.
  • 2 passport-sized photographs.
  • Finance plan to show that applicant has enough finance (money) to support himself/herself fully in Ireland.
  • Proof that applicant will return home.
  • Visa refusals, if any.
  • Visa applications for young people & children (aged under 18) should be made by their parents or legal guardian.

The Embassy is closed on Public Holidays.
