The Embassy works to promote and protect Irish interests in Hungary, whether it is working with the Irish community, promoting Irish economic interests or supporting the partnership between the two Governments.
The Embassy provides routine consular services and emergency consular assistance for Irish citizens in Hungary, Kosovo and Montenegro, in addition to passport applications and renewals. The Embassy also processes visa applications for visa required nationals wanting to travel to Ireland.

- Citizenship;
- Authenticating documents;
- Marriage and civil partnership;
- Travel advice.
If Irish citizens lose their passport, or if it is stolen, whilst they are outside Ireland, they should immediately report the loss to the nearest Irish Embassy or Consulate. If they have limited time in the country they may need to apply for an emergency passport or emergency travel certificate in order to travel onwards or home.
Citizens of Hungary do not need a visa to visit Ireland.
The Embassy does not accept credit or debit cards, but visitors can pay in cash or by bank transfer.
The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
