The work of the Nigerian Embassy is to co-ordinate, promote and protect the national interests of Nigeria within Italy in ways that contribute to the enhancement of Nigeria's security and socio-economic prosperity. Duties conducted by the Embassy include: Consular and Welfare matters, Immigration affairs, Legal and Education, Bilateral Political and Multilateral Relations, Trade and Economic Affairs as well as information dissemination. The Embassy also responds to all general enquiries from Nigerians resident in Italy and the general public.

As the name implies Emergency Travel Certificate is issued for emergency purposes only, when and if the standard passport has been lost.

Requirements:

  • Written application for TC;
  • Photocopies of lost passport (data page and Italian visa page);
  • Police report stating the lost of a Nigerian passport;
  • Photocopies of Nigerian Passport of a guarantor who must be a Nigerian;
  • Proof of address of guarantor;
  • Letter of guarantee.

Presentation of evidence of citizenship of Nigeria would assist in speeding up consideration of application.

Emergency Travelling Certificate is valid only for journey to Nigeria. Holder is not exempted from complying with the immigration requirements of countries of transit

Tourist visa requirements:

  • Letter of Invitation or Hotel Reservation;
  • Bank Statement;
  • Photocopy of Invitee’s document;
  • Return Ticket reservation;
  • 2 Current Passport photographs;
  • Online payment of Visa fees;
  • Acknowledgment slip and payment confirmation receipt;
  • €30.00 Administrative fee to be paid at the Embassy;
  • Complete form IMM/22A;
  • Security clearance;
  • A definitive understanding of where to tour.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
