The British embassy can’t help with passport enquiries. The British embassy can’t help with visa enquiries.

Lost or stolen passport must be reported by filling in form LS01 and posting, faxing or taking it to the nearest British embassy, high commission or consulate.

Japanese nationals won’t need a visa to come to the UK. However, they should bring the same documents they’d need to apply for a visa, to show to officers at the UK border:

  • Valid travel document (national passport or other document that allows the holder to travel internationally);
  • Previous travel documents/passports, which show previous travel;
  • Financial documents showing that they have sufficient funds available;
  • Confirmation of legal residence, if they are not nationals of the country in which they are applying or their right to reside there is not included in their passport;
  • Details of employment or studies where they have stated in their application that they are either employed or in full-time studies;
  • If self employed: business registration documents confirming the business owner’s name and the date the business started trading;
  • Additional documentation if under 18 years old.

The Embassy is closed on weekends and public holidays.
