The British Embassy in Mexico City maintains and develops relations between the UK and Mexico. It provides services to British nationals living in and visiting Mexico.

Citizens of Mexico won’t need a visa to come to the UK. They can stay in the UK for up to 6 months without a visa. However, they should bring the same documents they’d need to apply for a visa, to show to officers at the UK border:

• Valid travel document;
• Previous travel documents/passports, which show previous travel;
• Financial documents showing that the visitor has sufficient funds available;
• Confirmation of legal residence, if the visitor is not a national of Mexico;
• Details of employment or studies.

Mexican citizens may want to apply for a visa if they have a criminal record or they’ve previously been refused entry into the UK.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays. Emergency consular assistance for British nationals is available by telephone.
