Summer STEM Camps in Texas

Milestone Technical Institute, Houston:
Are you an elementary, middle, or high school student (age 9-17) interested in exercising your imagination and building things with your hands? Situated in southwest Houston, close to Missouri City and Sugar Land, Milestone Technical Institute is an IT / technology career training school that also provides a hands-on, project based, STEM tech summer camp for kids and teens. Our 2-week immersive tech camp in Houston is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and foster teamwork in young students.

STEM / Technology Summer Camps:
- Duration: 2 weeks
- For kids and teens ages 9-17

STEM-based learning outcomes include:

Science:
- Using data from specialized sensors such as rotation, sound, light, ultrasonic and touch
- Working with gears
- Controlling speed and power using a motor

Technology:
- Using wireless communication
- Programming and controlling input and output devices

Engineering:
- Choosing a solution, building it, testing it, evaluating it and revising it
- Brainstorming solutions

Mathematics:
- Practicing applied maths.
- Converting between decimals and fractions and between metric and customary units
- Using data involving distance, time, turning angles, degrees rotation, sound volume, reflected and ambient light, and gear ratio

Specialized in-camp courses include:

- Robotics Engineering
This program is designed to help campers master the fundamentals of robotics and the engineering design process. 

Students have the opportunity to build a frame and base, interchange wheels, create geared armatures, and engineer wiring.

- Build Your Own Computer
In this hands-on course, students learn to build a computer, install motherboard, format hard drives, load software, eliminate viruses, run and troubleshoot the software on the computer.

- Cyber Literacy
This hands-on course introduces students to cyber by blending robotics, programming, electricity, and elements of liberal arts.

Students will learn about the opportunities, threats, responsibilities, and legal constraints associated with operating in cyberspace.

- Video & Photography
This class features instruction in composition, exposure techniques, black and white, and more.

Daily shooting assignments give students the opportunity to explore a range of photographic themes and concepts.
