Pharmacy Assistant Diploma:
Course Duration: 43 weeks of full-time study.

A Pharmacy Assistant plays an important role in the Healthcare community, assisting the Pharmacist to dispense medication and other healthcare products to patients, in a dynamic, often fast-paced environment. You will use a wide range of skills, from an extensive scientific knowledge about the design, production, reactions and uses of medicines, to the ability to communicate effectively with Pharmacists, patients, customers, and doctors. As part of this program, you will also receive your First Aid & CPR certifications. 

Responsibilities of a Pharmacy Assistant include:
- Interact with patients/customers
- Read and Dispense Prescriptions
- Purchasing
- Merchandising 
- Prepare Compounds
- Prepare Aseptic
- Inventory Control
- Drug Distribution
- Record keeping as required under the Food and Drug Act
- Narcotics Control
- Repacking Pharmaceuticals
- Computer Processing
- Third Party Billing
- Clerical and other duties
