Focus Education Centre of Canada, Mississauga, Ontario:
Situated in Mississauga (an exciting, booming, multicultural city west of Toronto), Focus Education Centre of Canada is an English language school that provides English language classes and exam preparation courses to local students and international students. Our aim is to prepare you to achieve high scores in internationally-recognized English language and post graduate examinations, specializing in group preparation for the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). We also offer CELPIP Exam prep, and a 'Focus On English' general English course for beginners to advanced level students. To help you prepare to succeed in your English language proficiency exam, we focus on a different skill each day!

English Language / Proficiency Exam Preparation Courses:

Focus on English (General English) Program
This is a general English class and complete ESL study program that helps international students to improve their language skills in all areas.

It is offered at 5 levels, with each level taking approximately 8 weeks to complete when studying full-time. The levels are: 

• Level 1: Introduction to English
• Level 2: Beginner
• Level 3: Intermediate
• Level 4: Upper Intermediate  
• Level 5: Advanced 

During your lessons, you focus on all of the following skills: listening, speaking, writing, reading, grammar, pronunciation. This makes it possible for you to improve in every skill area at the same time.

Before you begin your program, you will take a test to see your current level of English. 

You can begin on any Monday by joining a class with other students at your level. You may study for as many weeks as you choose. However, we recommend that you study for at least 8 weeks. 

Our instructors use the communicative approach to language learning. This means that you will be actively participating and speaking English during each class. You will also be able to ask many questions.

There are three study options available for group classes:
• Intensive: 30 hours per week
• Full Time: 20 hours per week
• Part Time: 10 hours per week


IELTS Exam Preparation Course
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam is a standardized test used to evaluate the English language proficiency of non-native English speakers.

A high IELTS score is required by many colleges and universities in Canada, the United States, UK and worldwide as an entry requirement. In addition, IELTS is used to assess people for employment and immigration purposes.

This comprehensive IELTS prep course aims to teach you the skills and strategies you need to succeed in the IELTS exam. Our IELTS preparation courses in Mississauga, Toronto area will help you prepare for the IELTS exam through learning essential time management skills and IELTS test talking strategies. It is very important to learn about how the Listening Test and Reading Test are designed to identify which test takers receive a band score of 7. Students also need to understand what the examiner is specifically looking for when he or she marks the Speaking Test and the Writing Test.

Being in a small class with an experienced instructor allows you to ask questions, practice and get the feedback you need to feel confident on the day of your exam. 

Our flexible schedule allows you to spend more time on the skills that you need to improve the most. 

Each day, you focus on one specific area. Every week, you write a practice exam under real exam conditions in order to see your progress.

There are three study options available for IELTS preparation classes:
• Full Time: 20 hours per week
• Part Time: 10 hours per week
• Recommended duration of study: 4 weeks 


CELPIP (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program)
Study options: Intensive (30 hours per week), Full-time (20 hours), Part time (10 hours)

The CELPIP General exam is accepted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada for Permanent Resident status in Canada. There are two different exams:

• CELPIP General 2 skills test (CELPIP Listening and Speaking)
• CELPIP General 4 Skills test (CELPIP Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)

Business English Writing Course:
Business grammar, writing mechanics, and business documents are covered. Learn the expectations for professionalism in communication, and how to effectively analyze communication situations and write business documents that are clear, correct, concise, complete, and courteous.

Course Goals:
•To transition students from academic writing to business writing
•To improve students’ ability to write

All course objectives will be assessed on quizzes, writing assignments, and the final exam. Classes are offered mostly online but please contact us to see if there is the possibility of group or one on one private Business English Writing classes.

• MCCQE 1 & 2 (Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination) exam preparation courses

The tutorials that we provide in a classroom setting for the Medical Examinations are not offered by any other organization in Canada.
