INTRODUCTIONAs a key member of our Product Team, your mission as UI/UX Lead is to lead, mentor and guide our UI/UX designers as well as collaborating with other functions. In your role, you will get in touch with a variety of stakeholders, product owners, engineers and people from the leadership. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll combine strong communication and strategic thinking with expertise in prototyping, interaction design, and visual design to create exceptional user journeys.
Your leadership will shape the direction of our Product Design Guild, ensuring the product is functional, intuitive, visually captivating, and aligned with our broader business vision. Together with our Heads in Product and Engineering, you are ensuring strategic alignment and contribute in giving strategic guidance to all P&D teams.
Lead Product Designer (70%)
- Leadership:
Lead key design projects, ensuring alignment with stream goals and customer problems. - Hands‑on:
Drive results with hands‑on leadership when necessary, managing resources efficiently. - Quality Control:
Establish high‑quality standards and brand‑alignment within the teams. - Strategy Alignment:
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure all work aligns with the product vision and strategy. - Coordination:
Plan and coordinate design work, oversee team rituals, and ensure timely delivery. - Visibility:
Keep design work visible and documented through Jira. - Standards:
Ensure all designs improve user experience and meet accessibility standards.
People Manager (30%)
- Mentorship:
Offer guidance, feedback, and support for designers' growth. - Career Development:
Help define career paths and development frameworks. - Team Culture:
Foster collaboration, respect, and cross‑functional teamwork. - Autonomy:
Provide the team with clear purpose and tools to work effectively and autonomously while ensuring knowledge is being shared across all team members.
- Strategic Research:
Expertise in designing strategies by triangulating research (market/user, quantitative/qualitative, behavioral/attitudinal) to identify key problems for Product leaders and strategists. A systems thinker who understands the root causes and effects at various levels. - Design Expertise:
Proficient in user research, prototyping, and design thinking, with a strong understanding of emerging trends and technologies to keep solutions innovative and competitive. - Business Awareness:
Strong grasp of the company’s business model, revenue streams, and goals. Ensures design decisions are tied to ROI and business outcomes, maintaining stakeholder support. - Stakeholder Influence:
Skilled in guiding stakeholders toward user‑centered decisions based on research and testing. - Strategic Thinking:
Proven ability to align design with long‑term business goals, developing strategies collaboratively with the P&D leadership that solve immediate challenges and contribute to broader business objectives.
