Emerging Market Loan Pricing and Product Development Officer – Based in Luxembourg
Position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers relocation support.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) is recruiting for its Finance Directorate, Treasury Department, and Financial Engineering and Advisory Services Division at its headquarters in Luxembourg for an Emerging Market Loan Pricing and Product Development Officer.
This is a full-time position at grade 5 with a permanent contract.
PurposeThe FEAS Division supports the bank’s lending activity by providing services on pricing and hedging of lending-related products and developing new lending products.
Key Responsibilities- Price and quote EIB’s standard and non-standard lending/guarantee products.
- Support the Lending Directorate in procedural areas related to closing rate quotations.
- Provide advice on newly developed lending/guarantee products and market conditions.
- Perform indicative and firm quotations of lending rates for standard and non-standard products in local currencies on Emerging Markets, including guarantee structures, restructurings, prepayments, rate revisions.
- Provide advisory to lending, disbursement and monitoring officers and clients on bank products and procedural aspects.
- Provide business intelligence on lending solutions in Emerging Markets.
- Follow local EM markets and financial market conditions to advise on appropriate structures.
- Monitor pricing component evolution that can affect EIB’s lending rate and loan business pipeline.
- Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Rate Setting Application (RaSA).
- Keep abreast of latest market developments and regulatory practices in EM and implement changes in RaSA.
- Collect and check EM data consistency and extend RaSA functionalities.
- Design and implement new local currency lending solutions with EM Division specialists.
- Maintain documentation of implemented financial models.
- Perform ad-hoc activities in special initiatives.
- University degree (minimum Bachelor) preferably in a quantitative domain such as Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or Physics.
- Professional or postgraduate qualifications in financial markets, e.g., Financial Market Certificate (FMC), ACI Dealing Certificate (strong advantage).
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in financial engineering or risk modelling focused on interest rate and forex in emerging markets.
- Very good knowledge of Excel and VBA required.
- Knowledge of yield curve modelling and pricing of fixed income and forex derivatives required.
- Knowledge of Python and Business Objects considered a plus.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg/Reuters and database queries an advantage.
- Good knowledge of best market practices in emerging markets (derivatives, liquidity, risks, regulatory environment).
- Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (level 5, B1.2 CEFR). Good command of the other language. Knowledge of other EU languages an advantage.
