We are hiring a Technical Assistant (BTA/MTA) / Biology Laboratory Technician (focus on Cell Biology-Immunology) to join our team in Berlin. As a technician you will prepare samples for the analysis of complex flow cytometry projects (up to 18 colors) including receptor occupancy, immunophenotyping, and intracellular flow assays through assay development, validation, and execution in a timely manner. In addition, you will run other cell‑based assays such as ELISA, MSD, and ELISpot, as well as support the bio‑banking workflow.
Most samples are from clinical trials and therefore irreplaceable, so all assays are performed according to SOPs. You will support development of new procedures, the writing and improvement of SOPs, and ensure that all work follows SOPs. The role is unlimited and full‑time.
- Prepare and stain samples for complex flow cytometry (Fortessa X20 and Canto), using both real‑time samples and previously cryopreserved samples.
- Maintain equipment and perform high‑throughput screening, CS & T tracking to ensure laser alignments and instrument performance.
- Run cell‑based assays such as ELISA, MSD, and ELISpot.
- Organize laboratory work efficiently.
- Work under biosafety level 2 conditions.
- Actively support sample receipt, inventory, and processing, according to SOPs.
- Access sample information in the database.
- Highlight and report discrepancies.
- Assist in establishing and improving all procedures and required SOP documentation.
- Maintain and support safe lab practices and environment.
- Work collaboratively with other teams.
- Support new equipment operational qualifications and performance checks.
- Monitor reagents and instrument maintenance.
- Successfully completed vocational training as a biology laboratory technician or technical assistant.
- Basic knowledge of cell biology and relevant technologies.
- Knowledge and practical experience in handling clinical trial samples and a good understanding of cell biology are highly desirable.
- Ideally professional experience with practical workflows in GCP laboratories.
- Possess computational skills, preferably experienced with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a team.
- High level of quality awareness and ISO‑compliant working methods and documentation.
- Extended work hours and flexibility may be necessary to meet business demands.
- Fluency in English for communication across the organization and with clients.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of German is a plus.
