Senior Big Data Architect

We’re looking for a Senior Big Data Architect to lead the design and development of scalable data platforms that power analytics and AI in the sustainability space. This is a remote first role for experienced cloud data architects with strong expertise in Azure and big data ecosystems.

Design, implement, and evolve cloud native data architectures that support batch and real time analytics use cases

Collaborate with data engineers and product teams to build data pipelines and lakehouse solutions optimized for performance, reliability, and cost

Define and manage integration frameworks across multiple data sources, including APIs, streaming data, and traditional databases

Translate functional and non functional requirements into scalable data infrastructure and architecture

Lead architectural discussions and technical workshops with stakeholders across engineering and business functions

Build PoCs and MVPs to evaluate new technologies and drive innovation in the cloud data space

Document data flows, architecture diagrams, and technical decisions to ensure transparency and maintainability

Mentor junior architects and engineers, supporting professional development within the team

7+ years of experience in data engineering or cloud architecture roles

Strong programming skills in Python or Scala and experience working with Apache Spark

Deep understanding of modern data architectures including data lakes, warehouses, and lake houses

Experience designing cost efficient cloud solutions and optimizing data platform expenses

Proficiency in complex SQL queries and data modeling for analytics

Experience with Dev Ops and CI/CD practices (Azure Dev Ops, Terraform, Git Hub Actions)

Familiarity with project delivery methodologies (Scrum, Agile, Waterfall)
