Role OverviewThe Director, Enterprise Sales - Central & Southern Europe will lead Smartly’s commercial success across key markets in the region. This player/coach role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution — managing a team of high-performing Account Executives while also owning a personal book of enterprise global accounts
.
This is a unique opportunity for a driven, entrepreneurial leader who thrives in both strategic and client-facing environments. You will work closely with marketing, customer success, partnerships, agency and product teams to accelerate revenue growth and expand Smartly’s presence among enterprise advertisers.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of two Account Executives and one Sales Development Representative based in Berlin, ensuring consistent performance and professional growth.
- Set clear goals, forecast accurately, and implement best-in-class sales practices.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence within the team.
- Personally own and manage a portfolio of high-value enterprise accounts, including global brands with multi-market operations.
- Drive the full sales cycle: from strategic prospecting to complex deal structuring and closing.
- Build and maintain strong C-level and senior stakeholder relationships with key clients and partners.
- Achieve and exceed regional revenue targets and individual sales quotas.
- Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for Central & Southern Europe, in alignment with Smartly’s EMEA growth objectives.
- Identify new business opportunities and partnerships across target verticals.
- Work cross-functionally with Agency, Customer Success, and Product to ensure customer success and long-term retention.
- Represent Smartly at industry events, conferences, and executive meetings in the region.
- 10+ years of commercial experience in SaaS or digital marketing, with a strong record of success in enterprise sales.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing sales teams within high-growth technology or adtech environments.
- Proven ability to close complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.
- Deep understanding of digital advertising, media buying, and marketing automation.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills with a player/coach mindset.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage C-level stakeholders.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel across the region as required.
