JPMorgan Chase & Co. is expanding into Germany, and we’re looking for a qualitative Lead User Experience Researcher (Vice President) to join us in Berlin. As part of our Design and Customer Experience team, you’ll play a pivotal role in launching innovative products and creating a seamless digital banking experience for Chase Germany.
You’ll collaborate closely with Product leadership, leveraging your expertise in UX research and knowledge of the German banking landscape. Your insights will directly inform strategic decisions, design direction, and content development, helping us build a digital bank that puts customers first and considers the cultural context and user needs of German banking consumers.

Job Responsibilities- Design and execute end‑to‑end research studies, from discovery, concept testing, delivery, to continuous improvements, to identify customer needs, preferences, and behaviors that foster product improvements and innovation.
- Experience a broad range of research methods, such as diary studies, co‑creation workshops, discovery interviews, and usability research.
- Analyze and interpret data using advanced qualitative and quantitative methods and translate insights into actionable recommendations for enhancing user experience.
- Facilitate moderated and unmoderated qualitative studies with users to gather information on user needs and desires and create user testing scenarios to further refine the product or feature based on findings.
- Willingness to participate and contribute to the Research community and foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the Design and Customer Experience team.
- Monitor industry trends and advancements in user experience research methodologies and incorporate innovative techniques to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in generative and evaluative user experience research, with a strong focus on qualitative and some quantitative research methods.
- Proven ability to conduct various research techniques, such as ethnography, surveys, interviews, and advanced data analysis, to derive actionable insights for product teams and the wider business.
- Demonstrated knowledge of advanced qualitative methods, with evidence of implementing findings that improved product or feature design.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including UX designers, product managers, and developers, to propel customer‑centric decision‑making and inform product prioritization.
- Experience in designing high‑quality research studies with an iterative mindset, with an ability to adapt study parameters to accommodate changing product design needs.
- Fluent in both German and English languages.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of German banking landscape.
- Research experience in finance and banking.
