Azure engineer for data platforms

• Advise on the appropriate database choice for applications and set up and configure databases, preferably on Microsoft Azure;
• Operate, administer, and further develop databases such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL, and Oracle on-premises and in Azure;
• Install, configure, and manage patches for database systems;
• Monitor existing database environments and perform performance analysis and optimization;
• Ensure high availability and maintain backup and recovery strategies;
• Analyze and resolve incidents in ongoing operations through troubleshooting;
• Support migrations and modernization toward Azure;
• Advise developers and business departments on database-related questions.

• Experience with Azure Data Services, including Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, and Cosmos DB;
• Experience administering database systems such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL, and Oracle;
• Experience with monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting;
• Knowledge of backup, recovery, and security concepts;
• Understanding of database architectures and data modeling;
• Structured and solution-oriented working style;
• Interest in operating stable and high-performing systems;
• Knowledge of automation, such as scripting and Infrastructure as Code;
• Nice to have:
  Experience with data integration or ETL processes, such as Azure Data Factory.
