Sunday Natural is a German natural health brand that develops and manufactures natural, high-quality products such as essential oils and vitamins. The company operates its own research and development department in Berlin, collaborates with research institutes and specialists, and offers a predominantly vegan product range with largely recyclable glass packaging.

• Define and defend the infrastructure vision, including how systems are run, deployed, monitored, and scaled
• Work with two external partners as the in-house technical counterpart
• Build architecture and standards with external partners and transfer platform knowledge into the company
• Take the technical direction of the external partner group as the platform grows
• Own the AWS spend, including allocation and cost reduction
• Act as the escalation point and make decisions when production is at risk
• Own AWS infrastructure, including EC2, RDS, Fargate, Cloud Front, S3, IAM, Cloudflare, DNS, and WAF
• Strengthen security and compliance through Dev Sec Ops  practices, system audits, patching, access reviews, and GDPR-compliant data handling
• Move infrastructure from manual management to fully Terraform-defined infrastructure
• Tune, replicate, back up, and restore MySQL under production load
• Optimise cloud costs within the annual AWS budget
• Support delivery for 30+ developers through Bitbucket Pipelines and environment management
• Ensure reliability for 7M MAU through monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response
• Run the on-call and post-incident processes
• Define standards for other engineers and external partners and enforce them

• 7+ Years of experience running production infrastructure
• Deep hands-on AWS experience with accountability for production incidents
• Experience with security-conscious infrastructure operations, Dev Sec Ops  practices, system audits, and access reviews
• Experience handling GDPR-relevant data
• Scalable infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform as the default working approach
• Deep Linux experience with Debian or Ubuntu
• Ability to trace slow systems from the kernel level and explain the findings
• Strong MySQL experience under real load, including slow-query analysis, replication, indexing, and tested recovery
• Experience owning monitoring and incident response at scale
• Experience building proactive alerting with tools such as New Relic and Datatog
• Experience running on-call and post-incident processes
• Experience defining and enforcing technical standards for internal teams or external partners
• Nice to have: PHP-FPM / Magento 2 performance tuning, Varnish and Redis at scale, cloud cost optimisation at six-figure annual spend, AWS architecture certification, SIEM tooling such as Wazuh, direct-to-consumer eCommerce or other high-traffic system operations
