The technology stack supports mission-critical trading operations and is continuously evolving to meet the demands of a dynamic financial landscape.
We are seeking an experienced technology governance professional to oversee risk, controls, compliance, security and resilience across a portfolio of critical trading applications within Core Trading Technology. The role combines Technology risk and control management, Application governance and compliance oversight, and Information security and resilience assurance. The successful candidate will act as the primary authority for ensuring that the portfolio remain compliant, secure, well-controlled and audit-ready throughout its lifecycle.
The role requires close partnership with engineering teams, Production Support, Portfolio Owners, Risk and Control, and Internal Audit. The candidate is expected not only to coordinate activities, but also to assess evidence, challenge assumptions, make risk-based decisions and drive sustainable remediation of issues affecting the technology estate.
- Own the governance, risk and control framework for an assigned portfolio of applications.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and technology standards.
- Proactively assess operational and security controls and identify risks and areas requiring remediation.
- Coordinate and challenge risk acceptance decisions, ensuring that residual risks are clearly understood and appropriately governed.
- Lead the response to internal audits, external audits and regulatory reviews.
- Ensure vulnerabilities, unsupported technologies, patching gaps and configuration weaknesses are tracked, prioritized and remediated.
- Drive continuous improvement of governance, control and reporting processes through simplification, standardisation and automation.
Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs. Strong experience in technology risk management, information security, audit remediation, technology governance or operational controls. Good understanding of software development, application architecture, production operations and infrastructure environments. Knowledge of information security principles, vulnerability management, identity and access management, operational resilience and technology controls.
Experience managing audit findings, regulatory actions and remediation programmes. Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge senior colleagues when required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
