Head of Commercial – eMobility & EV Charging (Berlin)

My client’s Services Division delivers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions to EV hardware manufacturers, EV OEMs, mobility service providers, and automotive partners. The division has recently completed a major organisational redesign and service proposition build. With the foundations now in place, the organisation is seeking a proactive and commercially‑mindful Head of Commercial to lead the next phase: selling and scaling the service & product offering, deepening OEM partnerships, and driving the commercial success of the division.
Responsibilities- Strategy & Proposition Ownership (scale)
- Continue refining and ope rationalising the existing Services strategy.
- Evolve the service proposition for EV OEMs, hardware manufacturers, MSPs, and automotive suppliers.
- Commercial Leadership & Portfolio Sales
- Lead the commercial delivery of the services and product portfolio, with a focus on consultancy‑led sales.
- Target automotive OEMs (car & truck), EV charging hardware manufacturers, AC charging solution providers, MSPs selling into OEMs, and automotive consultancies (e.g., McKinsey, Roland Berger).
- Leverage and expand your existing OEM network, building trusted senior‑level relationships.
- Consultancy & Project Delivery
- Oversee delivery of large, complex customer projects (12–18 months).
- Ensure governance, process alignment, and cross‑functional collaboration across engineering, testing, and services teams.
- Support customers in interoperability, hardware integration, systems implementation, and operational readiness.
- Team & Organisational Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and scale a multidisciplinary team of 15–20 professionals.
- Guide the organisation through ongoing transformation, portfolio refinement, and a planned restructuring later this year.
- Ensure alignment between commercial, technical, and operational teams; represent the organisation in senior OEM meetings, negotiations, workshops, and industry events.
- Build and maintain long‑term consulting‑led customer relationships.
- Support pre‑sale activities and value proposition development while collaborating closely with technical teams.
- Strong background in eMobility, EV charging, automotive technology, or related technical product fields.
- Well‑established network within automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, hardware manufacturers, or AC charging companies.
- Experience from OEM‑side engineering or charging programmes; technical product or software businesses; MSPs that sell into OEMs; automotive consultancies (Roland Berger, McKinsey, etc.).
- Leadership of large teams (10–20+) in a matrix or technical environment.
- B2B sales experience, ideally for technical services or consulting engagements.
- Demonstrated success managing long‑running, complex technical projects.
- Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills.
- Comfortable working closely with engineering and product functions.
- Proactive, structured, and capable of driving organisational change.
- Strong communicator with the ability to bridge technical and commercial topics.
- German highly advantageous.
Berlin preferred (hybrid working arrangement). Proximity to technical teams is a strong advantage.
