Development Engineer; m​/f​/d

As a subsidiary of VELA Group SE, VELA Performance GmbH develops innovative solutions in the automotive and non-automotive sectors.
Our team of lightweight construction specialists develops high-performance components and systems for automobiles, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, aviation and medical technology.
We cover the entire process: from initial product sketches to functional prototypes that are assembled in our in-house workshop.

Development of the chassis systems: brakes, springs/damping, steering

Development of structural components, springs, dampers, stabilizers and connections as well as design of the integration components from the concept phase to series production in collaboration with vehicle dynamics integration and our suppliers

Carrying out concept studies for the chassis system

Establishing system requirements and carrying out requirements analyses

Derivation of system requirements from customer inquiries

Creation of system specifications on behalf of the customer

Creation of work packages and specifications

Coordination of internal development tasks

Support of subcontractors

Planning and carrying out verification activities

Preparation and execution of team meetings and reviews

Coordination and monitoring of the development process until it is ready for series production (internal/external)

Budget and deadline responsibility for the technical scope

Representation of chassis development in the exchange of experiences with other projects

Participation in the development, creation and implementation of innovative solutions

Completed technical studies in the field of automotive engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable specialisation

Several years of professional experience in project management, ideally in the automotive environment

Sound knowledge of vehicle technology and manufacturing processes

Special ability to work in a team and under pressure as well as a structured and goal-orientated way of working

Social skills as well as a confident and convincing demeanour

Very good communication skills in German and English
