Founded in Berlin by Jacqueline Mikuta and Klemens Weiss, MIKUTA began in 2017 with a jewelry line and expanded into women's ready-to-wear in 2019. Today, MIKUTA is an independent fashion brand known for effortless design, premium feel, and a distinct point of view.
Our Team is spread across Europe, with a Studio Office in Berlin and a production Office in northern Portugal and Flagship Stores in Berlin Mitte and Amsterdam.
ABOUT THE JOBWe’re working on perfecting fit across all collections, and to support our Product Development team, we’re looking for a Freelance Pattern Maker & Fit Specialist (d/f/m) who can turn design ideas into precise patterns and fit solutions, ensuring every product meets MIKUTA’s high standards for quality, craftsmanship, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities- Translate ideas from the Design team into accurate patterns and measurement lists from first prototype to final production.
- Lead fitting sessions across all categories, identifying and resolving fit and construction issues while maintaining the original design intent.
- Create detailed fit comments in PLM and collaborate closely with Product Development and Design teams to ensure all technical specifications and sketches reflect construction and pattern details.
- Review brand fit standards, grading rules, and measurement consistency across all sizes and categories.
- Ensure alignment in fit, quality, and craftsmanship standards across all product categories.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Proven experience in developing patterns and technically feasible measurement lists from prototype through production.
- Strong understanding of materials, grading, garment construction, and manufacturing processes.
- Passion for craftsmanship, precision, and quality.
- Creative problem-solving skills with a strong sensitivity to brand aesthetics.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across Design and Product Development teams.
