The Billing team designs, develops and operates a Golang service that turns metrics into billable amounts, enables customers to view their current spend with Canonical at any time and ensures accurate, reliable, and timely billing. The service also integrates with other engineering, business and payment systems. It is an excellent match for engineers who want to grow skills in the billing and payment processing domain.

The Contracts team designs, develops and operates a Golang service that becomes the single source of truth for all contracts with customers. The service provides a standardized CPQ capability and stores signed contracts in a structured format, integrating with CRM and accounting systems. It is ideal for engineers interested in sales and revenue processes beyond software engineering.

The Livepatch team designs and develops a service for delivering Linux kernel patches to shrink the exploit window for critical and high‑severity kernel vulnerabilities. The team builds Golang‑based client and backend components, while the Kernel team develops the patches themselves. It is a great opportunity for engineers interested in security and focused on engineering quality and reliability.

This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region.

• Develop engineering solutions leveraging Golang
• Lead technical designs, code reviews, and implementation
• Deploy and operate services developed by the team

• Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
• Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or compelling narrative about your alternative chosen path
• Track record of exceeding expectations to achieve outstanding results
• Experience with software development in Golang
• Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
• Result‑oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments
• Ability to travel internationally twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long

• Performance engineering and security experience
• Experience with accounting, sales, sales operations, or other business roles
