Lead Fullstack Engineer

Contro is a VC-backed technology startup and blockchain revolutionizing digital asset trading markets by prioritizing sustained intent over speed to enable transformative products. Our first product, Debate Markets, combines social finance and prediction markets to foster constructive, skin-in-the-game debates—a groundbreaking application at the intersection of blockchain, finance, and social networks.

We are looking for a senior software engineer proficient in architecting and developing performant web apps and their backends.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional, highly intelligent engineer who has previously played significant and hands-on roles in creating complex user-facing applications such as social networks or trading platforms—taking them from inception to production at scale. A strong interest in web3 / blockchain technology is also required.

• Develop the Web App: Lead development of our React-based frontend.
• Collaborate and Execute:
  Working closely with our Product Design Engineer, you’ll refine and integrate components and fill them with life.
• Architect the Backend: Design data models, index blockchain data and maintain performant and scalable databases and APIs for a social network-like use case.
• Innovate with Blockchain: Enable cutting-edge web3 UX by integrating blockchain infrastructure with modern web technologies.
• Deploy and Maintain: Set up CI/CD pipelines, manage deployments, and ensure smooth, secure operations.

• Masters degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering from a top university, OR excessive programming experience
• Top 0.5% intellectual ability across population
• 5+ years programming experience, 3+ of which as senior software engineer
• Write beautiful, well-structured code
• Proficient in Typescript and React
• Extensive experience with backend engineering and databases such as Postgres, Scylla
  
  DB, or Neo4j
• Familiarity with web design principles, CSS, responsive design
• Security mindset
• Excellent written communication
• (Plus) Experience with developing for or using web3
• (Plus) Mobile or system programming
