Lead Software Engineer; Agentic AI

What'S The Role?

As a Lead Engineer – Agentic AI, you will:

• Drive the development of offline Agentic AI capabilities for HERE products, enabling intelligent, context‑aware experiences without network connectivity.
• Design and implement autonomous AI agents optimized for resource‑constrained environments using Small Language Models (SLMs).
• Lead integration of HERE AI Assistant into the HERE SDK, ensuring seamless functionality across platforms and robust APIs.
• Define and optimize system architecture for offline AI solutions, balancing scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Develop and fine‑tune algorithms for natural language understanding and location intelligence tailored for lightweight models.
• Analyze datasets to improve model performance and agent behavior using machine learning and statistical methods.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including SDK engineers and product managers, providing technical leadership and mentorship.
• Produce clear documentation for models, APIs, and system components while ensuring adherence to best practices.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
• Strong proficiency in Python, C++, or Java.
• Hands‑on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or Tensor Flow.
• Deep understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and lightweight model optimization for edge devices.
• Proven experience in designing scalable, high‑performance systems for resource‑constrained environments.
• Background in AI‑driven applications, preferably in navigation or location‑based services.
• Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience leading complex technical initiatives.
• Passion for learning and applying emerging technologies in AI, edge computing, and autonomous systems.
