Staff Engineer (PHP and Vue.js), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance web applications. The role demands a deep understanding of backend (PHP) and frontend (Vue.js) technologies, architectural design, and leadership to guide teams toward successful project delivery.

• Technical Leadership
  • Defining and implementing technical strategies and architecture for web applications using PHPand Vue.js
  • Overseeing code quality, development standards, and best practices within the team
  • Working in the leadership team of our Staff Engineering Committee to help spread best practice not just within the department but across the whole of tech in CLARK
• Development and Implementation
  • Developing robust and scalable systems using PHP (preferably with frameworks like Laravel or Symfony) with dynamic, responsive, and user-friendly frontend interfaces using Vue.js (Typescript)
  • Integrating RESTful APIs and third-party services effectively into web applications
• Collaboration
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver exceptional software solutions
  • Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers
• Problem-Solving and Innovation
  • Identifying technical challenges and proposing effective solutions (e.g. optimizing application performance for speed and scalability)
  • Staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in PHP, Vue.js, and related technologies & driving innovation within the team by exploring new tools, frameworks, and approaches

• 8+ years of experience in software development with at least 3 years in a senior or staff engineering role
• Strong expertise in PHP, including frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, or Zend
• Proficiency in Vue.js and its ecosystem (Vuex, Vue Router, etc.)
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design and implementation
• Experience with database design and optimization (MySQL, Postgre

• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
