Engineering Manager – Automation Platform (AUTOP) – Doctolib, Berlin, Germany.

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead Autop’s mission of building and maintaining the automation infrastructure and developer tools that enable Doctolib teams to deliver high‑quality software efficiently. You will guide a team that powers CI/CD automation, testing infrastructure, local and temporary development environments, release management, dependency management, and developer productivity tooling.

• People leadership
  • Build and lead a high‑performing team of six engineers passionate about developer productivity.
  • Create a culture where engineers own outcomes and platform adoption is a north star.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top platform‑engineering talent.
  • Conduct impactful 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations.
• Technical strategy and execution
  • Define and drive the technical vision for your team’s domain (CI/CD, testing infrastructure, developer environments, or release automation).
  • Make high‑impact technical decisions that balance short‑term delivery with long‑term sustainability and scale.
  • Set the bar for automation, quality, reliability, and security—systems must support 800+ engineers daily.
  • Champion a “Platform as a Product” mindset and iterate based on developer feedback.
  • Partner strategically with product, Infrastructure Platform, and Applicative Platform teams.
  • Drive measurable improvements in developer productivity metrics such as build times, deployment frequency, test reliability, and time‑to‑production.

Autop’s platform supports a hybrid architecture: a Ruby on Rails monolith, Java, Kotlin, Type Script microservices, and a modern stack of Ruby, Java, Kotlin, Go, Type Script, Docker, Kubernetes, Git Hub Actions, Terraform, and various testing frameworks. We manage thousands of CI builds daily across 200+ development teams and leverage AI to enhance developer productivity.

• 6+ years of software engineering and 3+ years managing technical teams.
• Deep platform engineering expertise in CI/CD, developer tooling, automation, or testing infrastructure.
• Track record of building a “Platform as a Product,” driving adoption, measuring impact, and iterating on developer feedback.
• Strong stakeholder management—can influence stakeholders without authority.
• Proven ability to balance technical depth with people leadership.
• Fluent in English; comfortable engaging across a multi‑country organization.
• Additional preferences: passion for developer experience, entrepreneurial mindset, experience managing distributed teams, and background in healthcare or regulated, mission‑critical systems.
