Job Overview

Portland Webworks is hiring a remote candidate for a Drupal Front End Developer. This is a full‑time position based in the USA. The role involves JavaScript, Type Script, PHP, Java, Docker and REST services to build custom Drupal websites that are accessible, responsive and visually appealing. Senior level position.

• Ongoing feature development and maintenance for a range of public‑sector projects in an Agile framework.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback for pull requests regarding best practices and standards.
• Provide effort estimation and task decomposition for backlog items and client requests.
• Collaborate with the design team to improve accessibility, usability and adherence to the design vision.
• Identify areas for improvement for the team and technology.
• Analyze application performance and design and implement optimizations.
• Participate in Agile processes and communicate effectively with peers, product owners and clients.

• Deep understanding of Drupal CMS site building and theme development and active participation in the Drupal community.
• Proficiency in web accessibility standards and SEO optimization.
• Proficiency in multiple languages and technology stacks.
• Previous experience in Agile software development teams.
• Capacity to design and implement across full‑stack enterprise systems, Web UI, Mobile, HTTP Web Services and Database while respecting project constraints.
• Practitioner and proponent of modern front‑end frameworks.
• Comfortable communicating directly with clients as a technical consultant.
• Collaborative problem‑solving, balancing effort, complexity and business value.
• Ambitious and thoughtful contribution to organization and project goals.
