Senior Software Engineer

Podium is hiring a remote Senior Software Engineer for a full‑time position based in the USA. The role focuses on building tools that help local businesses connect, grow, and win. You will work with technologies such as React, PostgreSQL, Rust, Elixir/Phoenix, and AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot).

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who thinks like a product owner and is scrappy, opinionated, and energized by taking something from zero to one. You care more about what ships than the stack you’re shipping on, and you use AI tooling as a genuine force multiplier, not a novelty.

• Own features end‑to‑end, from the first design conversation to production on a platform used by thousands of businesses daily.
• Influence architecture, collaborate closely with product and design, and help keep our systems reliable as we scale.
• Invest in the people around you: share knowledge, review code, and raise the team’s collective ceiling.

• 7+ years building and shipping production systems as a full stack engineer.
• Track record of owning problems end‑to‑end, defining and delivering solutions rather than just executing tickets.
• Deep instincts across the stack: comfortable with backend logic, database design, and frontend UX within the same sprint.
• Fluency with relational databases and search fundamentals.
• Hands‑on daily experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) and proven ability to move faster with them.

• Experience at a fast‑moving startup or SaaS company.
• Familiarity with distributed systems concepts such as queues, event‑driven architecture, and horizontal scaling.
• Exposure to our current stack (Elixir/Phoenix, React, PostgreSQL) or genuine curiosity to pick it up quickly.
• A genuine interest in helping teammates grow.
