THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

As a Senior Frontend Engineer at the Loyalty Platform team, you will be responsible for developing, testing, operating and monitoring services that lay at the very foundation of the Zalando Loyalty Program Platform. You will have the opportunity to participate and contribute to technical solution designs and decisions in new technology stacks for building new features for our membership program.

• Design, develop, deploy, operate and improve important software solutions that are well tested, and your peers praise for its elegance and code readability.
• Join a team where continuous integration, code quality and monitoring are kept at very high standards, therefore you should also be positive and firm in your attitude towards them.
• Take ownership for the whole development cycle - from architecture design to testing to implementation and maintenance
• Add value by leveraging current trends in software design, architecture and web, constantly improving our architecture to be more flexible and scalable
• Work closely with Product and Design in designing and delivering experiences for millions of Zalando customers

• 5+ years of experience of professional software development experience and mastery of JavaScript / Typescript
• Strong experience in React and frontend state management.
• Experience with Node.js as a “backend for frontend”.
• Solid foundation of Frontend technologies (ECMAScript, HTML5, CSS3) and build tools like Webpack.
• Good knowledge of RESTful APIs / GraphQL clients and comfortable developing and consuming them.
• Good understanding of AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.
• Eager to build systems for production. You care about throughput, latency and availability before they become a problem, and build appropriate monitoring before bringing anything live.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to discuss technical architecture and designs with other senior and principal engineers
