THE ROLE & THE TEAM
As a Senior Software Engineer – Frontend in Lounge Platform Essentials, you will shape the customer experience of Zalando Lounge for millions of members across Europe.

You will be responsible for key client-facing parts of the Zalando Lounge application, including the Product Details Page, Size and Fit, and My Account. These experiences are central to how customers discover products, make confident purchase decisions, and manage their relationship with Zalando Lounge.

You will join a collaborative team that combines strong frontend engineering with a focus on customer value, quality, and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to take ownership of high-impact product areas, influence frontend technical direction, and help deliver fast, accessible, and reliable experiences at scale.

Take technical ownership of customer-facing frontend experiences, including the Product Details Page, Size and Fit, and My Account.

Design, build, test, release, and continuously improve frontend applications that help customers discover products and shop with confidence.

Partner with product managers, product designers, backend engineers, and other stakeholders to translate customer needs into clear, scalable technical solutions.

Build accessible, performant, resilient, and maintainable user interfaces that work reliably across customer journeys.

Help shape frontend architecture, engineering standards, and development practices, balancing near-term delivery with sustainable long-term solutions.

Support other engineers through constructive code reviews, pairing, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance.

You have demonstrated experience building and maintaining production frontend applications with Type Script and a modern frontend framework, such as React.

You are experienced in designing customer-facing user interfaces that are accessible, performant, and reliable.

You are comfortable working with APIs and collaborating closely with backend engineers to build complete product experiences.

You use automated testing to deliver high-quality software and can make pragmatic decisions about quality, scope, and delivery.

You enjoy working in cross-functional teams and can communicate technical trade-offs clearly to different audiences.

You have experience guiding other engineers and contributing to technical direction in a collaborative environment.

Lounge Platform Essentials builds and operates essential customer-facing capabilities for Zalando Lounge. Our team owns experiences that help members explore products, understand relevant product information, and manage their account.
