Germany has around 3.5 million businesses. Across the EU, there are more than 33 million. Getting insurance right can determine whether a business survives a major loss. Yet 70% of German businesses are underinsured or have significant coverage gape.

Getting covered still means navigating a slow and manual process with fragmented documents, a disorganized service and opaque fee structures. Business owners want to know they are properly protected, at a fair price, and get back to running their company.

Our goal is to make proper coverage and risk management for businesses straightforward.

Our thesis:

We’re building an AI-native commercial insurance company for Europe, starting with commercial insurance brokerage in Germany.

Our bet is simple: turning expert human judgment into reliable software can fundamentally improve how businesses get insured and stay protected. We are not just selling software for insurance companies, we build the company. We’ll own the customer relationship and operate the business, which lets us redesign the service and the technology together.

We’re designing the business around AI from the ground up. That means rethinking how we understand risk, collect information, compare coverage, work with insurers and support customers.

Our ambition is to automate 90%+ of routine work. That should make experts more effective, shorten the path from enquiry to coverage and make good advice economical to deliver to more businesses.

You don’t need a lifelong interest in insurance to join us. You should be excited by turning complex expert work into software and building a company that redefines how commercial insurance works.

Your role:

We are two founders combining company-building, commercial experience and commercial insurance expertise. We’ve secured initial funding from one of the most successful insurtech entrepreneurs in Europe.

We’re looking for a hands‑on technical co‑founder with strong product judgment. You will shape the product, write the software and help decide how the business should work.

We’re early, with our current focus on small and medium‑size businesses. There is substantial room to shape what we build and how we build it.

What you’ll own:

• Product and engineering from the start. Work directly with us and customers to decide what matters, set priorities and take responsibility for delivery.
• The first working workflows. Understand how a process works manually, identify its biggest bottleneck and ship a useful improvement within days.
• The technical foundation. Build across backend, frontend, data and integrations. Choose what to build, buy or connect, and explain which shortcuts are sensible and which will cause problems.
• AI that works in practice. Turn messy documents and domain knowledge into useful outputs. Evaluate quality on real examples, make failures visible and decide where human judgment is needed.
• The future engineering team. Stay hands‑on as we get started, then help attract and develop the people needed to grow.

What we’re looking for:

• You have personally built and shipped working software. You can walk us through the code, decisions and results, including what went wrong.
• You combine strong software engineering with product judgment. You ask what the customer needs and what changes the business outcome before choosing an architecture.
• You have practical experience building with LLMs and can explain how you assess reliability, cost and performance.
• You move quickly by keeping scope focused. You’re comfortable delivering a small, complete solution and improving it through feedback, rather than waiting for the perfect product roadmap.
